The Conversation Series will launch throughout the year. Follow each of our partners social media channels below to keep an eye out for the stories.
What are you
Our message is simple.
COVID-19 has impacted life in so many ways: our family life, our social life, our work life. Many of us are limiting our interactions with others to reduce the risk of contracting the virus.1
It’s natural to think that – if we have a new symptom – it will probably clear up on its own. That these things can wait.
So, if you have an unusual or persistent symptom…
Don’t wait. Contact your doctor. Get checked.
The New Normal Same Cancer Movement
13 healthcare organisations across Australia have come together with one voice to say: Don’t wait. Contact your doctor. Get checked.

A message from Cancer Australia
“New Normal Same Cancer is a vital message – because as we know, cancer won’t wait. Last year, Cancer Australia analysed evidence that showed a substantial reduction in cancer related services and procedures that occurred from March through until September 2020. As we know, any potential delays in diagnosis and treatment in response to these reductions may lead to more advanced stages of cancer progression and poorer patient outcomes, so we encourage people to see their doctors as usual.”
Cancer Australia’s CEO, Professor Dorothy Keefe
